A Baisic Survey for the Planning of Public Health Nursing Practice

Abstract
|
|
|
This was an attempt to study about the level of Knowledge and health practice of the -residents at #2 AMi-Doug, Su-Ku, Busan which was chosen as a demonstration area for nursing students of The Medical College, Busan National University.
The purpose was to give support to the planning of nursing students practice for public health nursing.
The information which was obtained through this study is as follows:
1. The demographic aspect:
a . The population was 2789.
b. Distribution of age and sex of the residents showed 0-19 Age 50.1%, 20-39 Age 29.4% and among then(male 1401, female 1388).
c . Population has been very mobile. The majority of them have been living in the area for 5 years (80. 27%) and over 5 years(19. 73%).
2. The sociological aspect:
a . The level of education was primary school for most of them.
b. Ten percent of the residents had some religion but most of them had no religion at all.
c . The level of income for 89.37% of them was below 50000 Won.
3. The diagnosis of health problems and nursing needs showed that most of them had a severe lost of health knowledge while at the some time they had extensive needs in regard to public health and home care.
As a result of this study, it could be summarized that there are a great number of public health nursing needs in the community.
In summary this type of study if neeessary for the planning of studens field experience when no data is available for the area where students are going to have field experience in public health nursing.
